ABOUT LEIGH

Friend, learner, explorer, chatter-box.. director, manager, consultant, coach, speaker, author... We are all more than just 'one thing' and I'm a pretty good example of that.

Hi, I'm Leigh Ashton! A former athlete, I have worked predominantly in the sports industry for close to twenty years with a few deliberate breaks for being a mum, writing, upskilling, and moving overseas and back again. All of my roles have involved speaking and facilitating, coaching, and people development.

I wrote The Talent Trap in 2019, which felt audacious but necessary. A few years later I focused on Mindset because it seemed so obviously and deeply important. In both instances I wanted to help find solutions. In both instances I felt a responsibility to pass on lessons and knowledge. And in both instances I wanted to simplify concepts that seemed complex and re-present them in a way that would be easy for people to understand and apply.

After a few seasons of travel and mindset coaching I missed the camaraderie of working in sport, so fast-forward to today and I am back working as part of an awesome sport organisation. I still make myself available for speaking engagements and a very limited number of mindset clients, and The Talent Trap continues to be available (and awesome).

Regardless of job title, I am a coach to the core. I love helping teams achieve collective goals, and I love supporting individuals to pursue their own next level.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM LEIGH

I love helping teams achieve collective goals, and I love supporting individuals to pursue their own next level.

~

I believe that leading others begins with leading ourselves. How we operate and communicate day to day, how we role model and elevate those around us, and how we manage our mindset and expectations all have a huge impact on the team environment.

~

For me, success involves connection, having a clear direction to be accountable to, having fun, working hard, and celebrating progress along the way.

~

I challenge myself and others to not just do what has always been done. In many instances have been either an initiator, or early-adopter, of new approaches that challenge the status quo and advocate for positive change.

~

I am a friendly and capable team player who values professionalism and respect.
